Horus had many manifestations. Horus the Elder was one of the earliest. He was the patron god of Upper Egypt. Horus the Elder was depicted as a hawk-headed human. Horus the Elder was worshipped at Qus, at his cult center.
He was the son of Hathor or Nut and the brother of Osiris and Seth. This conflicts with the better known legend that Horus is the son of Isis and Osiris.
Both manefestations, Horus the Elder and Horus, son of Isis, are given credit for conquering Seth (the god of Lower Egypt)at Edfu.
Horus the Elder is said to have been wounded in the left eye in the the battle with Seth, but he healed. However that eye was alway weaker, and while the sun shone out of his right eye, the moon shone out of his left eye. I have illustrated this concept using the wall decorations from the Tomb of Sennenmut, but I have never seen the alternate eyes depicted in a tomb scene.
