Medinet Habu is worth a morning's
exploration. The reliefs are relatively undamaged and
worth following with a guidebook such as the Penguin
Guide.
Be sure and go into the
older temples on the site if you can. The Temple to Amun
is a more culturally important site than the Mortuary
Temple.
You will have time
to see a couple of the Tombs of the Nobles or the tombs
of the sons of Ramesses III in the Valley of the Queens
on the same day, so buy your tickets when you get off the
ferry.
Suggestions:
Tomb of Prince
Khaemwese- Valley of Queens
Tomb of Prince Amenherkepeshef - Valley of Queens
Tomb of Khonsu
Tomb of Nakht
Tomb of Userhet
Tomb of Ramose
Medinet Habu is
covered on pages 341-348 in the Penguin
Guide and pages 297-298 in the Lonely
Planet guide.
