How to Use the Glossary
in The
Global Egyptian Museum
The glossary is linked to two types
of items. One type has a picture and a description. The second type
of item has an EYE symbol beside it. These have a small panoramic movie of
the site. You control where you are "looking" in the
movie. The one of Aswan is typical and interesting. You can
"stand" in one spot and see the Nile and Elephantine Island as you
"turn around" by moving your cursor. Be sure to try the when you
get your 24 hour trial login or register for membership.
The top menu is a
specialty menu. It presents information organized in different ways. The
Glossary is a list of terms and sites with links to descriptions
and pictures illustrating those terms and sites. |

When you click on Glossary in the top menu you are
presented with an alphabetical list of items. |
 |

Click on an item with no added symbol and you get an
explanatory page like this one. Note that there are many links to
related topics.

Click on an item that has an EYE symbol beside it and
you get an explanatory page with a Quicktime movie.
These are fun to use, but may take a while to
download.
You can control where you look by moving the cursor
within the picture area.
